Hi,I am trying to run dieselEngineFoam in parallel. But it crashes at the start of injection. I am using OF 1.6 ext. The setup runs perfectly fine in serial.volPointInterpolation::interpolateInternalField(const GeometricField<Type, fvPatchField, volMesh>&, GeometricField<Type, pointPatchField, pointMesh>&) : interpolating field from cells to points [cfd011:30318] *** An error occurred in MPI_Recv [cfd011:30318] *** on communicator MPI_COMM_WORLD [cfd011:30318] *** MPI_ERR_TRUNCATE: message truncated [cfd011:30318] *** MPI_ERRORS_ARE_FATAL (your MPI job will now abort) -------------------------------------------------------------------------- mpirun has exited due to process rank 0 with PID 30318 on node cfd011 exiting without calling "finalize". This may have caused other processes in the application to be terminated by signals sent by mpirun (as reported here). --------------------------------------------------------------------------

Has anyone of you the dieselEngineDyMFoam solver? So far, I was not able to create it by myself. I ve problems to understand the relative and absolute meshflux change which is apparently necessary after a topological mesh change. I would like to use the topoEngineChangerMesh class with it. I m also willing to share my dieselEngineDyMFoam solver, if someone wants to have a look on it.Peter

I ve created a new mesh motion class for engines. Basically it consists of the accordionEngineMesh class for the valve motion and for the piston motion layers are added or removed. It works fine with 1.5-dev, also wit a flow solver (engineDyFoam). Unfortunately with 1.6-ext a problem occcur by introducing a flow solver. U are welcome to use this class. I provide you with a test case. Peter

hi,Peter!

I'm going to apply the OpenFoam-2.0.1 to the air motion simulation in GDI engines.
I found there is a tutorial called kivaTest in the Tutorial folder, In this case, the engineFoam application is used, but there is no valve action in this case.
And I also found there is engineValve.C and engineValve.H in ./src/engine/engineValve folder. I wonder if I can use the engineValve.C and engineValve.H to achieve the valve action and how to add them to the application engineFoam.

Now can I use your new class, since you ceated the new mesh motion class including the valve motion?

I will deeply appreciate you, if you provide me the test case as your mentioned above.

this is my e-mail: ldam@tju.edu.cn

Best regards,

yours sincerely,

Daming Liu

I welcome everyone who found the way to this group :) Please post your questions and ideas here. We can discuss out projects. I am interest in mesh motion strategies for engines and the simulation of GDI engines.Peter
