| attach detach boundary conditions 1 Year, 2 Months ago | Karma: 0 | Hi Foamers I would like to use the attach detach approach to close valves in a combustion engine. It works fine without flow solver, but with flow solver it crashes. What do I need in creating a flow solver for a mesh, which deals with topology changes? I guess I ve to update my boundary conditions at the moment when faces are added or removed, but how? I hope this is the right forum, since it deals with meshes. Thx in advance Peter |

| Re:attach detach boundary conditions 1 Year, 2 Months ago | Karma: 0 | Yes I have used it, but just to test the engineTopoChangerMesh class. I am about to adapt the dieselEngineFoam solver to use the engineTopoChangerMesh class but I am struggling with the attachdetach boundary conditions and the right meshflux. Do you have experiences with solver which uses meshmotion ? Peter |

| Re:attach detach boundary conditions 1 Year, 2 Months ago | Karma: 0 | Hi, Unfortunately, my experience is limited to advising Sandeep Menon on building an incompressible solver with mesh motion and topo changes. It is awfully convenient having him here. I am going to be sad when he graduates. I have just started poking around with sonicTurbDyMEngineFoam in order to try out some of our remeshing ideas. I see that much of the engine mesh coding is very application-specific. -David |
