TOPIC: Numerical beach in OF

Numerical beach in OF 1 Year, 5 Months ago Karma: 0
Hi all,

I am trying to simulate an open channel flow, where I would like to validate the wall shear stress.

I started with some help of the wigley case, but i get standing waves in my channel after some time. (about 7 sec) I am thinking that reflections of my boundaries cause this waves. After some research i found a presentation with a hint to a „numerical beach“, which i think could solve my problem. So my questions are: Are there other papers than Clement 1996, which you can recommend me to implement the numerical beach in OpenFOAM®? Are there „test“ cases/solvers where the boundary is already implemented? Do you think this will solve my problems?
(By the way, is there also a wigley case for OF 1.7 ? I just found an “unofficial” in the cfd-online forum)

Thanks a lot!

Klemens
