| Rotating boundary conditions for transient case 1 Year, 9 Months ago | Karma: 1 | Hello, I just want to provide a warning about the movingWallVelocity boundary condition used for transient simulation (usually with transientSimpleDyMFoam). The problem is that this boundary condition computes the velocity as the distance between the previous and the actual time step of a face center, divided by the time step value. Therefore only a straight line is considered and not the arc of circle, which is the correct distance. Although this problem will affect your computation significantly only for large time step (more than 30 degrees). I even suggest you to change the movingWallVelocity into movingRotatingWallVelocity, which is physically more correct. Best regards, Christian Vessaz |
