Unable to install transientSimpleDyFoam solver 8 Months, 3 Weeks ago

Hi
i am using Openfoam-1.6-ext. In order to run a test case (swirl generator)i need to install transientSimpleDyFoam solver. I am following the OpenFoamWiki test case document for Timisoara Swirl Generator.

the installation did not go through and following message appears

/usr/bin/ld: cannot find -ldynamicFvMesh
/usr/bin/ld: cannot find -lengine

and it categories the error as Error 1

i am new to linux and openfoam. i will really appreciate the guidance

Hi Tauseef,

It seems like you don't have a problem with transientSimpleDyFoam. Instead you have a problem with your OpenFOAM® installation. It seems like some parts of it has failed when compiling.

Do the following:

Code:

foam
 ./Allwmake >& log

Wait until the command finishes and search the log file for error messages. If you can't figure out what went wrong, search the Forum at cfd-online. If you still can't figure out, get back here.
